Florida TEApublicans don't give a smelly elephant dung heap about the environment because polluting industries pay them off and you can't do anything about it...

First, the despicable corporate-owned Republican majority of the Florida state legislature and it's detestibly infamous Republican governor went on the attack to nullify federal EPA water quality standards which were only designed to clean up pollution belched out by industries that have tainted and contaminated Florida waters at levels dangerous to aquatic life, fisheries, bird rookeries, agricultural produce, human life, and thereby to the state recreational and tourism industries that bring in the major revenues for the state and it's working residents.

Next, the tea-party-infested Republican Florida U.S. senator "Rube" Rubio joined his tea-party-diseased Republican Florida legislature cowhorets in mindlessly attacking the federal EPA water quality standards which are only designed to better protect Florida waters and thereby it's drinking water, it's fruit and vegetable and citrus production, it's residents, it's tourism industry, it's aquatic life, it's fisheries, it's rookeries, and therefore the general well being of the entire state, including corporations and industry and their employees.

And now, those same arrogantly ignorant tea-party-demented Republicans in the Florida state legislature have taken the unconscionable stance that they -- just being simpleton, lying politicians -- also ass-ume they know better than all of those thousands of public officials at the Florida regional level and county level and local community level of the entire state as to whether or not to restrict water pollution from industries that are dumping whatever toxic contaminants they want into the already toxically tainted water supply (and air, and soil) without any encumbrance of cost on industries to protect the environment -- our habitat -- that they are wantonly destroying without being held accountable, except to the tea party prostitute Republican governor and his harlot legislature to which the polluters must contribute to their "campaigns" on a regular basis in order to buy their puppetized allegiance to allow destruction of the environment...

The first two points above contain embedded links to posts which further elaborate upon the scurrilous tea party dimwits defending toxic pollution of Florida waters by their corporate slave master industries. The third point above however is covered by the excerpts below from an article, a link to which follows the excerpts.

Florida's Legislature is again threatening to undermine regional and local efforts to reduce water pollution and protect a precious resource that holds vital economic consequences.

Legislation that would hinder local governments from enforcing restrictions on the application of fertilizers remains alive.

Not under the influence of the special interests that dominate Tallahassee, county and municipal governments have rights to adopt regulations protecting their own resources.

Manatee County's fertilizer ordinance restricts the application of certain nutrient-rich products on residential and commercial landscapes during the four-month rainy season in order to prevent nitrogen and phosphorous from draining into waterways via storm runoff.

This will help prevent algae blooms, fish kills and water quality degradation in lakes, streams and bays -- thus protecting our critical tourism and fishing industries and our quality of life.

This reasonable ordinance exempts farms, vegetable gardens, golf courses and athletic fields, and does not restrict sales of any product -- in deference to retailers.

In a January protest of fertilizer legislation that attracted representatives of five counties in the region, Sarasota County Commissioner Jon Thaxton pointed out the high cost to taxpayers for the removal of phosphorous pollution from waterways: $1,000 a pound. In stark contrast, prevention costs nothing.

Why not continue with reasonable fertilizer restrictions?

The state [tea party legislators and governor] of Florida has been battling the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over water pollution regulations that set numeric standards on nutrients from sewage, manure and fertilizer. Last week, the Legislature approved new rules as a [a totally relaxed] alternative to the EPA's stricter proposals.

With tighter statewide regulations on water pollution looming, legislative action to weaken local government rules makes absolutely no sense.

Again, the regional and local public officials have enough common sense to do the right thing, the sensible thing, the monetarily correct thing, but the sinister TEApublican legislature is pushing legislation to subject everyone to their just-let-industry-pollute-away stupidity...

In closing, for anyone not familiar with the ludicrously egregious ongoing misconduct of the state of Florida tea party zombie Republicans, in their hypocritical defense of their protecting the profits of their corporate pimps, they came out of the imbecile closet as deniers of global warming in order to defend their corporate industry whoredoggers to keep on pumping noxious greenhouse gases into the Florida air. And, they mindlessly do this in a state which...

  • is surrounded by over 3,500 miles of ocean and gulf waters,

  • is already from zero to only a few feet -- at most -- above sea level at the shoreline,

  • is a thin porous crust filled with inland lakes, marshes, wetlands, and vast swamplands that rise at levels equal to the rising sea levels,

  • is seeing it's shorelines increasingly eaten away by sea level rise,

  • is seeing it's coastal and inland fresh water aquifers increasingly invaded by salt water intrusion from the rising ocean waters (up to several miles in places like Miami, nearing M.I.A.)...

  • All of which -- and more -- is caused by the melting of the polar regions, the melting planetary glaciers, the melting of continent sized mile high ice sheets, the melting of numerous country-sized regions of no-longer-permanent "permafrost", the melting of vast country-sized frozen peat bogs, and the melting of previously "permanent" high mountain snow packs in southeast Asia, Africa, and South America (their water supply),

  • which of course is all caused by global warming...

Perhaps that is the most blatant example of the phrase "how stupid is that"... Denying the blatantly obvious costly destruction of the ecosystem of the state, it's residents, it's tourism industry, just to simply allow corporate industry to make higher profits by avoiding cleaning up their dirty energy pumping of toxic pollutants into the air we all breathe (which causes illness, disease, and death, also costly)... Well, they do now call the state "FloriDUH", increasingly because of the mindless TEApublican morons that the uninformed, misinformed, and naive voters that were tricked by the TEApublican campaign lies and voted the TEApublican morons into office...

If you or someone you know want to "do something" about the deplorable situation, be aware that recall legislation to remove errant elected "officials" from office has been given the "death sentence" again this legislative session by TEApublicans that buried it in five "committees" that are of course controlled by TEApublicans. If you or anyone you know might care to raise some hell about that, here is a direct link to our new "Do Something" page and here is a direct link to our page on how to create a free website or blog, and here is a link to our "Activism" page; there are similarly named clickable "buttons" at the top of each page to link to these pages. Also, there is a 'Do Something' section in the right sidebar that has some different tips on how to fix America and the planet.
