Note that "training" of so-called or supposed meteorologists does not necessarily consist of any relevant education regarding meteorology. Many "weather reporters" are only that, reporters that may or may not even be journalists.
More and more, it seems that a large number of TV "weather forecasters" are just good looking babes that are simply trained how to present the canned graphics that some nerd in the back room has produced, some of which is just taken off "the weather wire" (Reuters, AP, etc) in the way that most mainstream media "news" is dug up these days. And the intentional "jiggle, jiggle" body movements are meant to distract the attention of viewers off into some other dimension, like the mind-blocking lust syndrome. "The better to eat you with", as the Big Bad Wolf once said about his sharp fangs...
So your typical mainstream weather reporter may well know nothing more about global warming than the typical American TV viewer, which is increasingly wrong since denierlogists are, well, read on...
But realize that a typical weather forecaster can simply be someone "off the street" and may well have vested interests, especially those interests of the powerful mega-corporate monopolistic globalists that own the forecaster's media outlet, who script their partisan "ideology" for the forecasters in the interests of dirty energy fossil fuel industries of big oil and big coal.
Just like they script the evangelical anti-science creationist mantra to convince you that this planet is only 4,000 years old, and the dinosaurs died off in an ice age or the big flood only 3,000 years ago, whatever sounds good...
In short, most forecasters and meteorologists are little more than bobblehead puppets, slaves for big business masters, paid shills for the charlatan corporations that are only interested in maximizing profits by exploiting cheap energy for as long as they can get away with it without destroying themselves, never mind their children...
But most importantly regarding actual trained meteorologists. Their training is only in short term forecasting of weather conditions, high and low pressure systems, like that... They do not have any education on climate science which deals with historical climatology, geology, statistical data modelling, and computerized climate modeling, like that...
So the difference in the education of "weatherologists" and actual scientific climate scientists could be compared to the difference between a court reporter and the judge, a nurse and brain surgeon, like that...
Bottom line dig. Given all of the powerful high tech equipment and satellites that weatherologists have at their disposal now, consider how many times they simply do not get the forecast right, and not once have I ever heard any of them ever do a recap of how badly they had messed up on the prior day's or week's or month's forecast.
A recent example of that: the local National Weather Service meteorologist in Miami -- after an aberrantly dry "rainy season" -- declared on the first day of October that the Florida "dry season" had started, and it rained nearly thirty inches that month, an all time record even counting tropical storms and hurricanes. Never mind the "never seen before" November tornado that destroyed hundreds of homes in Lauderdale that of course no weatherologist saw coming...
Then consider that climate scientists have been consistently on target concerning global warming and climate change. Many of their predictions have fallen short of actual -- such as the polar regions melting "100 years ahead of schedule" -- but that is due to their being forced to do minimalist or modest predictions. Wouldn't want to give denierologists fodder to exclaim their "the sky is falling" accusations. Never mind the abuse of deniers to include death threats of anyone laying it on the line, telling it like it is (we have lost count of the death threats against us).
An overwhelming -- if not total -- consensus of -- actual -- climate scientists have concluded in over 10,000 peer-reviewed research studies that global warming is all too real and is anthropogenic, which means caused by human generated greenhouse gases from burning carbon fossil fuels.
It is said that more than fifty percent of weatherologists are blatantly demented denierlogists, and most of the rest of them are lowballing downplayers that grovel at the altar of their corporate slavemasters to obfuscate and ignore the facts, not unlike their brother bobbleheads of corporate-owned mainstream media spewing "infotainment" and the "faux" noooz bullpooporama.
Dick Cheney once insolently -- as usual -- "postulated" something to the effect that when faced with the slightest possibility of danger, proceed on the side of caution and take every action to stave off that danger (hence, bogus "WMD" and the Iraq war).
Yet denierlogists defy Cheney's mind boggling postulate and defy the facts, encouraging the dirty energy burning of carbon fossil fuels, and pooh poohing the potential blunder of failure in the sincerest dire experiment with the sensitive ultra-thin shield that is the life sustaining planetary greenhouse, choking it full of increasingly record high amounts of more and more greenhouse gases, thickening the greenhouse shield to trap more solar heat, to melt more planetary ice, that will result in the release of hundreds of trillions of tons of naturally stored greenhouse gases that are more than twenty times stronger than carbon dioxide.
Never mind feeding the voracious profit appetite of "free market" capitalism which demands more and more people to consume more and more finite resources to burn more and more carbon fossil fuels to generate more and more wealth for the already wealthy which causes irrational people to pursue more and more people being born, such as Republicans trying to do away with birth control or anything that keeps down the number of people being born into this overpopulated world...
Bonus enlightenment. Many denierologists that do have the just-look-at-your-temperature-gauge common sense to admit that the planet is "warming" -- duhuh! -- have taken up the comblabberation mantra that it's just a natural thingy poo "cycle". What they either don't know or dance around is the fact that yes we are in a cycle, and have been for thousands of years.
But, we have been in a planetary COOLING cycle -- not a warming cycle -- and the becolding "little ice age" ended in the 1600's and transitioned into the current warming trend.
But the planetary cooling cycle should not have stopped and was to continue for thousands of years into the future, yet the planet has been getting hotter and hotter as the human population has skyrocketed -- the population doubling in a cycle less than every 50 years now -- and with it initially the burning of wood and coal and peat moss and animal dung and the wanton burning of forests and prairie lands to "clear" the trees and vegetation has turned the cooling cycle into a warming cycle. Never mind the subsequent advent of vehicles, and wars, and air conditioners, and coal burning power plants...
Bottom line, since the planet stopped cooling in the middle of a cooling cycle and instead transitioned to warming, the documented warming is exponentially worse than it would seem...
The above rant started out as a lead in to a followup post on the folks of the "Forecast The Facts" effort to get denierologists to extract their heads out of the much too used orifice in their rear ends, but my proofreader looking over my shoulder has suggested that I cut this off here and do that post tomorrow, subsequently adding a link to it here.
Since she is sitting there with a bottle of wine and two glasses, and a look of exasperation, I hereby declare end of rant. For now. But expect even more common sense tomorrow...
