April 20th, 2009 - a stormy sunrise, reminiscent of northern springtime mornings
We had a request from local chamber of commerce tourism people to point out that although the weather looked a little bleak this morning with the evening sunset appearing similarly stormy (the videographer almost got caught in a downpour at sunset), that most of the day was actually very nice and mostly sunny here at our locale.

Not much sun or color at official time of sunrise, but a wide variety of abundant clouds as the tail end of yesterday's "conveyer belt" storm system moves out to sea (the Weather Channel used the conveyer belt terminology to describe the continual line of storms pushed in from the gulf over the Everglades).

This morning's "ocultation" of planet Venus with the Moon was stunningly vivid with the naked eye, but our low-budget (fixed wide-angle, step-down) video camera just was not up to the task of capturing the phenomenon.
