September 1st, 2009 - First day of "astronomical" fall, can the Autumnal Equinox be far behind...
September 2nd, 2009 - Temperatures have eased down a few degrees into cooler days and nights...
September 4th, 2009 - Morning storms over the gulf stream, 76 degrees, cool...
September 5th, 2009 - Morning thunderheads over gulf stream, temps down to 70 degrees, chilly!
This turned out to be a spectacular sunrise, but this was the only take that we managed to capture (the video camera has become even more problematic, lucky to capture even one full take, getting very frustrating, not a great way to start the day...)...
September 6th, 2009 - No sunrise video, camera still being highly problematic, but again "just for the record" the sky was overcast with rain anyway, and this is not even the "rainy season" here, but it has sure seemed like it the last month or so...
A "for the record" footnote that from the 7th thru the 11th, we were rained out at sunrise on three of those mornings and "clouded out" on one of them, highly unusual here at any time of year...
Another "just for the record" footnote that from the 11th thru the 16th, we were again rained out or clouded out on most mornings (sunsets not too great either). This weather, like it is everywhere else of late, is just plain crazy -- we have never seen it anything like this, neither in the November transitional season or even during the rainy season. It's gotta be that climate change thing, as this is much too extreme even for a strong El Nino. Oh, still no new camera, and we still have not managed to capture a full take with the old camera, when we have the patience to even try, and when the weather cooperated...
For the record, from the 17th thru the 28th, the weather remained August like temperature-wise, but was considerably stormier than usual, with several sunrise rain-outs and some days presented four to five "showers" with occasional tropical downpours. What "dry spell"? We speculate that the drought is over, but we seemed to have missed the media noting that fact. Like they also avoid reporting on the aforementioned water level rise -- just think what effect that would have on water front property values...
September 29th, 2009 - Nice and cool after yesterday's fall-like storm front moved through...
Today on the Weather Channel tropical report it was speculated that we were unlikely to see another hurricane this year and that if any tropical storms developed they would likely be of little consequence. We anticipate that this will soon result in yet another "adjustment" to the predicted number of hurricanes by William "Wild Bill" Grey (as in always "wildly" off the mark) way up there in the remote Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where he also pooh-poohs "climate change". By the way Wild Bill, the high tide water level of the intracoastal waterway here is over a foot higher now than it was just a couple of years ago, but I guess that has nothing to do with all the glaciers and polar ice caps melting, just a normal thing, huh?
