April 11th, 2009 - Hmmm, no video... We are not sure just what happened, but apparently it would appear that somewhere in the supposedly meticulous process of capturing video, offloading the videos from the vidcam, selecting and uploading the videos to the video webhost, migrating the code of the uploaded video into the webpage, and backing it all up before deleting it from the video camera, suuuumbody dropped the ball on the April 11th sunset videos. Hmmm... Are we all getting complacent here living on the beach "wasting away in Margaritaville", or were we out too late on a Saturday night, or was it that the video guy stayed too long at the Tiki Hut bar again and just plain missed the sunset? As the song goes, "some say there's a woman to blame...", but it ain't ME!

April 13th, 2009 - An unspectacular cloudless sunset this evening, so we thought that as a consolation prize for your journeying here, that we would provide a lovely poem about the light of day fading into night, clarifying that no setting of the sun is ever "unspectacular"...
Daylight fades
Sky's blue hue deepens
Sun's setting rays
Turning white clouds pink
Reflected on still waters
Alone on the dock I wait
The blanket of darkness
Falling softly around me
Moonbeams drop diamonds
Sparkling at my feet
Quiet calm settles on my world
The ugliness suddenly gone
Beauty is all I see
My soul finding peace

We have a request from local chamber of commerce tourism people to point out that although the weather was stormy this evening at sunset (the videographer almost got caught in a downpour right after capturing the above video) and was similarly inclement this morning if you caught today's sunrise video, that most of the day was actually very nice and mostly sunny here as usual...
.April 22nd, 2009 - Sunset from Whiskey Creek Bridge
Not much of a show this evening. The videographer admits to making a mistake by going to this alternate location tonight and apologizes for camera movement -- he states that this was due to being incessantly attacked by innumerable "no-seeums" (which you should try to avoid if you closely peruse the webpage at this link). Ah, the risky travails of a videographer: wind, rain, lightning, bugs, cold, heat, sun exposure, dangerous people - so many risks, so little reward, so much criticism...
