May 1st, 2009 - Unusual mix of clouds at sunset...
May 1st, 2009 - Two osprey "dancing" way up high at start of above video...
(look to the center of the video, you will see two objects circling each other, then heading toward the ocean -- if you click on the full screen button at lower right of the video frame pane, you can better observe the circling "dance")
.May 2nd, 2009 - Not much doing on the western front this evening, just for the record...
May 3rd, 2009 - another one just for the record that the vid guy was there...
May 4th, 2009 - Sunset with three-heron fly-by.
May 4th, 2009
May 6th, 2009
This video was captured early in the sunset, and as you can imagine it turned out to be a very colorful one. However, our now dysfunctional video camera went into power off mode and the video guy was unable to obtain a later clip of any length (if you can spare a minute, please click on the "Help" tab at the top of this page to send an email to try to help us expediently resolve our video cam problem).
.May 5th, 2009
This was the sunset where the video camera expired. Now that the camera works off and on, we have been able to extract this video and can get a few more with luck. The video guy says that a little later that the clouds did turn a nice shade of red, made for a nice sunset...
.May 7th, 2009 - Take One
Take note of the blue-ish "shadow beams" coming off of the large cloud toward the end of the above video, and then check the next video below to see the "tail" of those beams over the ocean...
.May 7th, 2009 - Take Two
The above video was captured oceanside to show the tail of the "shadow beams" coming off of the large cloud toward the end of the prior video (anyone know what these are called, other than shadow beams or sun beams?). Take three is below, a turnaround shot back at the shadow beam generating cloud over the wetlands from the beach. Note that the beams were considerably more vivid to the naked eye, as is everything else, than here on the video from our low end video camera -- it was really quite spectacular as cloud beams go, looking forward to a better camera...
.May 7th, 2009 - Take Three
A turnaround shot a little later back at the shadow beam generating cloud over the wetlands from the beach. Note that the cloud soon turned a vivid red (and raised higher into the twilight sky) so we went back over to the intracoastal to capture the "grand finale", but our now erratic video cam went into "hibernate mode" again...
.May 8th, 2009 - Take One
Again, like last evenings sunset video, take note of the blue-ish "shadow beams" coming off of the clouds to the left toward the end of the above video, and then check the oceanside video below to see the "tail" of those beams over the ocean pointing directly at the newly risen full moon...
.May 8th, 2009 - Take Two
Again, like last evenings sunset video, we observed blue-ish "shadow beams" coming off of the clouds on the opposite horizon with the "tail" of those beams over the ocean pointing directly at the newly risen full moon... Also again, our low-end video cam was not anywhere near capable of capturing the splendid crispness of this unusual event, for the even more unusual repeat occurrence for the second night in a row (at least Mother Nature managed to point directly at the rising moon tonight, as She was a little off last evening)...

May 13th, 2009 - Half hour before sunset, awesome clouds, will be a gorgeous sunset, right?
May 13th, 2009 - At sunset, wispy clouds imploded, no color, just an ordinary 'set (the video guy says it reminds him of a few marriages he was lured into, but as the Buffett song goes, we know it was his own damned fault...)...
