November 9th, 2009
Still too windy, gray, and cloudy, but the clouds overhead looked like huge snowflakes...
November 12th, 2009 - No video this evening, as the cool front that is moving in brought a dense solid gray cloud mass that covers not only South Florida but pretty much the entire state. At least TS Ida went to the west, and then to the north of us. Northerners up the coast have seen umpteen more tropical storms this season than we have here in this southern bowling alley for hurricanes... November 15th, 2009. An incredibly beautiful day here, very much like a late summer day "up north", hot sun, cool breezes, and wonderfully crisp, clear air. And as predicted at sunrise, the locals were out in full force today, so much so that it was impossible to capture a sunset video on this day due to an overabundance of wacky locals, vehicles, boats, and a cacaphony of noise, not that it was very good for doing so, with a total absence of clouds and an extremely bright sun until after sunset. "One of those days", but beautiful here... November 22nd. Just for the record, late this afternoon a complete cloud-out rolled in from the north, so no visible sunset, no video. Was a very nice day up to that point though, a little cloudy, warm, just right... November 25th. Another just for the record, the stormy weather that started at sunrise today has persisted and at sunset had turned into a cold, cloudy, dark evening, with some lingering thunder and lightning. Needless to say, the vid guy declined to get out to see what it looked like over the big swamp, so no chance of a sunset video tonight... Supposed to continue like this overnight into tomoro, so there may not be any sunrise video in the morning... Cold front rolling in, about a 15 degree drop already, with a rather strong chilly northwest wind blowing in. Supposed to get down in the 50's tonight, will have to bundle up for the sunrise in the morning.. November 28th and 29th. The high pressure system that moved into the region with the recent cold front is parked over the area and the last two evenings have been devoid of any clouds, with extremely low humidity, and extremely clear air over the everglades. This results in an extremely bright sun at sunset which is not at all conducive to capturing a video. Consequently, no sunset videos for these two evenings. For the record, the daytime weather has been beautiful, lots of warm sunshine, clear crisp air, with mild temps and no humidity, with cool nights, just right after the prolonged extended fall heat wave that felt more like summer. We are experiencing continued delightful weather, with a very nice day today, low humidity, warm sunshine, pleasantly cool and fresh air with only a slight breeze, still carrying pungent fragrances of fall, and hardly any noticeable presence of tourists just yet. A great time of year to get out and exercise here. The links below are to the other archive pages if you are interested in viewing more videos.
